JOB TITLE: Social Centre Manager

LOCATION: Worksop, Nottinghamshire

SALARY & BENEFITS: Starting salary is negotiable in the range £20,000 - £22,000 per annum depending on qualifications and experience

WORKING HOURS: Contracted hours will be 32 per week, however the successful applicant will be expected to work additional hours when required to meet the needs of the business and weekly hours will vary according to the activities taking place at the Centre

THE COMPANY: Our client is a Social Centre that has a fully stocked bar and rooms that can be hired out by members of the community for all sorts of events. We are currently looking for a Social Centre Manager to join their team in Worksop, Nottinghamshire.

THE ROLE: The Social Centre Manager will manage and run the day to day operations of the Social Centre.

Key responsibilities for the Social Centre Manager role;
  • Organise and prepare for events in the Social Centre including weddings, parties, concerts etc.
  • Ordering of bar supplies, including food
  • Routine cashing handling/balancing and banking
  • Cellar maintenance and management
  • Managing the Social Centre staff including bar and cleaning staff
  • Ensure functions and events are adequately resourced with staff
  • Actively promoting events to be held at the Social Centre
  • Liaising with promotions manager on planned and future events
  • Developing the business in line with agreed budgets
  • Effective liaison with the Clerk’s office
  • Identify and organise relevant staff training
  • Identify maintenance issues within the building

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and ambitious person.
Key Experience/ Characteristics essential for the Social Centre Manager role in Worksop, Nottinghamshire:
  • Previous experience in managing in the licence trade
  • Previous experience in food preparation and production
  • Must hold a Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Previous experience in cash handling/keeping accurate financial records
