Following a £1million refurbishment, this modern pub with restaurant, is looking to appoint a Sous Chef to their expanding team.

The venue, near Preston, offers quality pub foods.

About the job

  • Food preparation and cooking of British classics
  • Assist and deputise for the Head Chef
  • Working in a high volume fast paced environment
  • Kitchen management
  • Help with menu control and specials development
  • Stock control and ordering
  • Assist with staff management, training and development
  • Ensure full; compliance with food safety legislation and requirements

The ideal candidate

  • Proven track record gained within a busy food led pub
  • Excellent cooking and organisational skills
  • Able to deal with a sizeable proportion of fresh produce
  • Used to working with quality-based suppliers
  • Customer focused – ability to exceed guest expectations
  • Effective communication skills (both back and front of house)
  • Able to lead and train junior members of staff
  • Organised and calm under pressure
  • Knowledge of food hygiene regulations
  • Should already have the legal right to work in the UK / EU and ideally be living in the UK (for interview attendance purposes)
