At the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO), we provide commercial ships, navies and maritime organisations with world-leading ocean geospatial products that keep them safe, and maximise their effectiveness. We also drive all manner of economic development, resource exploration, scientific, security and defence projects. So as you can imagine, configuration management here is not just business-critical – it is life critical.
As a Configuration Analyst, you will work across our Technology Division and end users to protect and improve the integrity of our Configuration Management System (CMS) and software licence management tools. Ultimately, your work will underpin our ability to deliver for our customers, and at least match last year’s £145m turnover.
That means taking responsibility for the CMS: evolving the quality and accuracy of data, maintaining relationships between configuration items and supplying management information. Equally, you will be in charge of developing and implementing policies and procedures, managing licences, fostering compliance and embedding best practice. All while fielding questions and queries as our subject matter expert.
A sound understanding of configuration management and practical experience of complex asset management, software licensing and IT products and services are essential. You will also need to be a great communicator who can plan effectively and always keep the customer in mind.
After that, a Certificate in IT Service Management would be useful; and the more you know about Assyst and Snow the better. Bring a keen sense for both the big picture and fine details too, and the global maritime industry will certainly appreciate your skills.
To apply, please send us a competency statement no more than 250 words in length for each of the below criteria:

› Building capability for all.
