We are recruiting 5 Events Assistants in North London
Salary: £10.20 per hour
Location: Across the London Boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington and Waltham Forest
Contract: Casual contract
Keep Britain Tidy is working with North London Waste Authority and Islington Council to deliver a series of food waste prevention and recycling events throughout summer 2018. The events will be delivered at outdoor locations across the London Boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington and Waltham Forest from end of July until late September 2018. These events are designed to highlight, tackle and reduce the level of food an average household wastes or disposes of incorrectly in a year through public engagement on the issue.
Each Waste Less, Lunch Free event will be attended by five Events Assistants, supervised by a Keep Britain Tidy Project Manager.
Full training will be provided on Wednesday 18th July 2018.
There will be 13 events in total, taking place on a selection of dates as follows:
- 28th or 29th July (2 events – Islington Council)
- 4th or 5th August (2 events – Islington Council)
- 10th or 11th August (2 events – Islington Council)
- 15th August (NLWA)
- 16th or 17th August (NLWA)
- 18th or 19th August (NLWA)
- 5th September (NLWA)
- 9th September (NLWA)
- 22nd September (NLWA)
- 23rd September (NLWA)
Please note these dates may be subject to change.
These positions will provide sought-after experience for those looking for a career in the environmental sector, especially the waste and recycling industry, and are paid at the London Living Wage. These positions also offer a chance to change the way people view food waste and make a real impact on waste prevention across North London. Further employment may be available at the end of this contract.
