Return to Practice (RTP) Nursing Programme
Are you looking to return to general practice nursing or do you want to work in primary care after a break in your nurse registration? The University of Chester is working with local GP practices and NHS Trusts to offer this innovative Return to Practice course, enabling nurses whose NMC registration has lapsed to return to practice.
You’ll take a flexible, well-supported approach to learning through a mixture of theory and practice. There is a strong emphasis on flexibility in placements and nursing placement preferences obtained during your initial interview, which aim to enable you to gain tailored clinical experience which reflects your personal experience and choice. We are keen to support people back into all fields of nursing, including general practice and community practice.
You’ll be supported by a mentor from practice as well as a dedicated member of staff from the University, alongside a range of learning support services.
The course duration is typically six months, and we have cohorts starting at the beginning of September and February.
There are no fees to pay as this is covered by Health Education England. There is also a bursary of £500.00 available.
