Duties and responsibilities
In particular, the post holder will work in collaboration with analytical chemists and clinicians under the direction of Professor George Hanna and within the framework of an innovative research programme, investigating diagnostic and molecular drivers of cancers of the digestive tract. Applicants should be inspired by the challenges of translational research to which they should seek innovative and high-quality scientific solutions. There will be opportunities for supervising PhD students and applying for fellowships.
Essential requirement includes a PhD or equivalent in physical sciences, analytical chemistry or biochemistry and gas chromatography mass spectrometry experience. Knowledge of direct sampling mass spectrometry techniques (PTR-ToF-MS and SIFT-MS) is desirable but not essential.
