This role sits within our Parliamentary Maintenance Team which serves both the Commons & Lords carrying out planned and reactive maintenance requests and maintenance projects on the Parliamentary Estate. The team carry out a range of challenging, varied and diverse tasks within the Palace of Westminster and other Parliamentary offices, working to maintain buildings, engineering systems and furnishings to ensure the estate is a fully-functioning, safe working environment.

The team are seeking an apprentice to ensure that Parliamentary buildings are kept in safe working condition. You will provide first and immediate response to fault finding and ensure the prevention of major damage while considering cost effectiveness, quality and minimising the need for reactive intervention.  

The ideal candidate for this role would have an interest in building an understanding of the mechanism of buildings including electrical, plumbing, plant, safety systems and equipment. They will need to be an effective communicator and show a good understanding of excellent customer service. To apply, candidates must hold GCSEs in English and Maths at grades A-D or equivalent, or be willing to work towards this during their apprenticeship.

We will conduct a sift based on the information you provide and successful candidates will be invited to attend a Preparation Workshop on the 26th September 2018 to ensure you have all the information you need to complete a competency based interview, which will be held week commencing 1st October 2018.
