Position: Part Time Support Worker ref 19873
Location: Woodbridge, Suffolk
Hours: An average of 25 per week,
Salary: £13 per hour week night, £15 per hour weekends
About the role:
Our client is seeking an experienced support worker to work with a 10 year old boy in his own home. He has cerebral palsy affecting all four limbs. He is able to drive a powered wheelchair and can walk short distances with the support of leg splints and one to one assistance.
Our client requires somebody to work with him and his therapists to help improve his speech and mobility. He lives in a loving family home and is able to express himself very well. The support worker will be required to provide additional supervision and support.
The support worker will need to drive our client’s mobility vehicle and take him to community social groups. They will be expected to stay to provide one-one support to him.
Our client may require assistance with washing and dressing and support when eating his food.
Hours of Work
Term time (20 hours x 39 weeks)
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 4pm-8pm
Sat or Sunday 9am – 5pm
It is unlikely that support staff will be expected to work on bank holidays.
School holidays (40 hours x 13 weeks)
4 weekdays 9am – 5pm
Sat or Sun 9am – 5pm.
Applicants must have previous experience of working with children with additional needs.
Applicants must have a full driving licence and it be possible to obtain insurance to drive the clients vehicle.
Due to the nature of the role an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Certificate will be required.
