Newcross Healthcare are seeking experienced Senior Care Assistants to provide outstanding care and support to our service users in Reading, Wokingham, Henley-on-Thames and the surrounding areas.

What to expect

Your responsibilities will include; personal care, helping with social activities, aiding with clinical needs and assisting with any other additional services that will enable our service users to live their daily lives as independently as possible.

Due to the nature of this role, you will need to hold an NVQ3 or equivalent in health and social care, with a medication certificate also essential.



Skills & Opportunities

The successful candidate will have the chance to improve their skill set with a range of free training programmes, earned through credits as you work. These include Basic Life Support, BSL or Makaton, Medication Administration, Dementia Care and more.

What do you need for this role?

  • The right to live and work in the UK
  • At least 3 months' previous paid experience working in a care environment in the UK within the last 3 years
  • Referee contact details for your current place of work, including a manager who can comment on your clinical ability, and for all employments in the past 18 months or your 3 most recent jobs
  • A certificate confirming your participation in a practical moving and handling course in the last 12 months or are willing to book on to a Newcross course
  • NVQ3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care with medication administration certificate
  • You will need access to a smartphone, iPhone (5s or later), iPad or iPod touch compatible with IOS 8.0 (or later) or Android device with a 4.3 operating system (or later), with internet access to submit your timesheets via our mobile app
  • Access to your own vehicle is desirable

Your Local Team

Your local team is located in the largest town in Berkshire, Reading on the first floor in Enterprise House on 95 London Street.

We are just down the road from the Royal Berkshire Hospital; built in the nineteenth century as a result of injuries sustained building the Great Western Railway, which luckily enough is only a 13-minute walk away.

We are also easily reachable by car and bus.
