Our client, one of the UK's premier luxury hotel brands, are currently seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager with luxury experience to join their already established team at their property in Berkshire (SL5).

The property offers it's guests a host of services including it's 2 restaurants on-site offering Rosette and Michelin standard food and beverage.

You will assist the Restaurant Manager in the smooth running of the brasserie restaurant to include the bar, acting as the manager when required.

You will be contracted to 40 hours per week on a rolling rota (5 days from 7 including weekends and bank holidays). Due to it's location applicants are required to have their own transport. The property is not serviced by public transport.

Essential Functions & Physical Requirements

  • Be responsible for the smooth running of all restaurant services
  • Working closely with the Head Chef at all times
  • Attend daily hotel meetings as required
  • Attend the weekly BEO meetings
  • Take on projects not only within brasserie but across the hotel and be part of various hotel committees
  • Manage and deliver effective training continuously for the team
  • Update the database with accurate guest information to ensure we meet their expectations
  • Regularly review service standards and procedures and implement the necessary actions to improve training in line with Core Standards
  • Communicate well with other departments
  • Recognise and acknowledge regular guests, their preferences and meet and exceed their expectations
  • Manage, lead & motivate the team to enhance performance, achieve business goals, financial budgets and service standards
  • Support with the management of shift coverage, work load & resource distribution within & across teams
  • Be aware of the budgets and P&L
  • Manage, monitor & continually improve service & operational systems
  • Ensure accurate billing and cash management
  • Proactively support the manager to monitor & respond to guest comments & feedback
  • Update menus as required
  • Manage appropriate stock & usage of linen, glassware, china & silverware
  • Ensure all team members display excellence in personal grooming & hygiene

Qualifications and Desirables

  • Experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience of supervising a team
  • Knowledge of beverages
  • Team player
  • Hands on
  • Excellent presentation
  • Good written and verbal English
  • Good motivator
