This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team to provide care and support our students of Cambian Pengwern College.The senior leadership team has a clear vision for growth and positive change. The College, which is a 52 week placement provision, has a proud and successful tradition of supporting students between the ages of 16 – 25 who have Moderate to Severe Learning Disabilities and Complex Needs, including some challenging behaviours, to gain valuable life skills, qualifications and confidence to support their onward journey towards independence. The Head of College and the dedicated team recognise this success and want to offer this opportunity to a wider range of young people and adults as part the ongoing developments that are taking place across all areas of the college.
As such, we have created new opportunities for an individual to join the current team at a really exciting time, with an improved training program that provides excellent professional development opportunities for candidates who show enthusiasm, passion and commitment to the role. Successful applicants will be mentored and supported by the management team to ensure that they are guided towards achieving their personal best.
Cambian Pengwern College is situated in Rhuddlan, Denbighshire. Taking pride in the commitment to delivering quality learning through individualised programmes for the students which is supported by and extensive range of therapeutic and sensory input with amazing on-site facilities and opportunities within the local communities for students to learn and engage with members of the community.
We are looking to recruit committed, empathetic and engaging support teams that will deliver a model of positive behaviour support to empower our young people to make a positive change in their lives, gain self-regulation skills and develop greater lifelong independence.
What we need from you?
Successful candidates will be part of a large supportive team who work holistically across Care, Education and Therapeutic services supporting each other’s practice to deliver specialist residential educational services to those with additional and complex needs; including Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, Autism & Asperger’s. This is a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with trained, qualified professionals from across our multidisciplinary team and to join an expanding, successful educational organisation.

The Role of a Support Worker involves:

- Providing guidance and support to students in the community;
- Ensure the students to achieve their personal best.

Applicants must be happy to assist with personal care, feeding and changing.
Successful candidates will have to meet the person specification in order to be offered this post.
