Children’s Advocates and Voluntary Independent Visitors needed!
Location: Reading & Berkshire Areas (Sessional work)
Salary: £10 per hour + expenses (Advocates)
Reconstruct originated as a training and development company in 1990, offering training on the Children Act 1989 to local authorities throughout England and Wales. At Reconstruct we work with children, parents, carers, practitioners, managers and directors. This gives us a real insight into what is required from all perspectives. The independent children's services that we offer make a real difference to the lives of children and young people.
We are now looking for paid, part-time freelance advocates to join our pool across the Berkshire area. The advocacy role fits around other commitments but you need to be flexible and available outside school hours as well as during office hours. Excellent training and support package. You will need to have a driving licence and access to a car. Safer recruitment including DBS and other checks. Full training is provided.
• Are you a good listener, non-judgemental and trustworthy?
• Do you have experience of working with young people?
• Are you looking for flexible, rewarding, part time work?
• Do you have a clean driving licence and access to a car?
We pay our advocates £10 per hour and reimburse all expenses.
We are also in need of Independent Visitors, on a voluntary basis. Independent Visitors are trustworthy, committed adults who befriend, visit and share activities with a young person in care. You will be a good role model and able to visit for around three hours once a month every month building a long-term positive relationship. Excellent training and support and all expenses paid. Safer recruitment including DBS and other checks.
