REED Social Care are recruiting for a permanent Mainstream Residential Children's Home manager in the Rotherham area. The home can accommodate up to 4 children - both male and female, with behavioural, social and emotional challenges. This is a complex and challenging - but also rewarding - role for the right person.

The role will involve working for a national private Children's Home provider - with 95% of their homes being rated as Outstanding or Good with Ofsted. Working for the company will provide you with plenty of challenges and a rich variety of opportunities to develop your career.

Your main responsibilities will include:
Coaching and developing the team to maximise their performance and potential and work effectively together to deliver the best outcomes
Enabling the young people to fulfil their potential through structured education, care and wellbeing interventions that are relevant to their needs
Managing placement plans building relationships and gaining best outcome agreements with local authorities
Managing the home in line with the allocated budget
Overseeing all referrals and assessments within the home
Maintaining the highest levels of health, wellbeing and safeguarding of young people within care
Ensuring the homes is fully resourced, with the right level of capability to operate safely and compliantly at all times
Leading the performance and outcomes of the home
Owning and ensuring delivery of fully compliant and accurate records and administration in line with regulatory requirements and standards

Due to the nature of the role - there is certain criteria all candidates must meet to be considered for the role:
Qualified or working towards Diploma Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Residential Child Care (England)
Experience of working with and managing challenging behaviour
Proven track record of managing people and performance
Ability to work across and support the management of a 24/7 operation
Attained Level 3 CCYP
Extensive experience in working with young adults, preferably in a residential environment
High level of working knowledge of relevant legislation such as Children’s Act and Quality Care Standards
Experience of dealing with attachment and trauma
Extensive experience of working within Safeguarding and Medication environments
Proven track record of working and managing conflicting priorities and challenges
Takes accountability for own training and continual professional development
Experience of managing relationships at multiple levels and with local authorities
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Flexible and adaptable
