Be Inspired...

St. Margaret’s Hospice is the leading provider of end of life services in Somerset. Our track record of investing in high quality and caring support means we are one of the UK’s largest Hospices.

We deliver care for over 3,200 people each year who face a life limiting illness. Only 25% of our costs are supported by the NHS. The rest is provided by charitable income through our fundraising, shops and donations. Our pioneering services depend upon the best people who can innovate, inspire and deliver exceptional services and income generation to provide the best care possible for patients and their families.

Our Values:

We are patient-centred, compassionate, respectful, brave, self-aware, informed and driven.

We are currently seeking to appoint a driven, talented and passionate Head of Retail. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with an extensive background in retail management including multi-site/equivalent.

You will be responsible for the strategic development and overall day-to-day management of a large charity retailing arm, generating over £5.2m per year. This role involves maximising income through the sale of goods through circa 30 charity stores and 3 furniture superstores across Somerset. Using innovative methods you will drive and motivate your team to exceed targets, control costs, ensure high levels of customer service and build lasting positive relationships with communities, upholding the image and culture of the organisation. You will identify suitable trading opportunities using financial, demographic and internal data to compile a long term strategic plan to grow income opportunities, whilst working together with our existing Income Generation team to maximise opportunities.

The role requires someone who is self-motivated with excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.

In return, we offer a rewarding role in a stimulating and positive working environment, the opportunity to develop new skills and the satisfaction of supporting the St. Margaret’s team to make each day count for individuals and families in Somerset.
