Job Description

South Lanarkshire Council schools have recently undergone an £800m+ modernisation programme. We have invested significantly in modernising school buildings and this project is believed to be the largest and most progressive in the UK.

The agenda now is to provide high quality education which will inspire learners, transform learning and strengthen communities.

During this time we have built and modernised numerous Primary and Secondary Schools. This project has also included new build standalone ASN schools and ASN bases within both our Primary and Secondary mainstream schools. This reflects South Lanarkshire’s commitment to inclusive education for all of our pupils. Our ASN establishments access and use the resources, support and expertise to meet the needs of children in local communities.

It is our mission to make positive meaningful changes in the lives of young people, including those with additional support needs. We aim to provide an exceptional learning and working environment for pupils and staff and work in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals. In our ASN provisions our pupil teacher ratio reflects the needs of the children and is in line within Scottish Government guidelines with a maximum of 10 children in each class, along with embedded support.

We are now inviting applications from fully qualified (GTCS) and NQT Primary Teachers who expect to gain full registration by June 2019.

We are committed to the education, care and welfare of young people in a childcare environment. You will assist in the delivery of the curriculum and contribute to whole school initiatives, as appropriate.

You will carry out the range of duties outlined in Annexe B of \"A Teaching Profession for the 21st Century\". You will have the opportunity to participate in high quality CLPL opportunities to equip you for teaching in the ASN sector and to support your career progression.
