Director of Corporate Operations and Organisational Development

Effective and efficient transport networks matter to all of us: they feed the economy and wider society by contributing to productivity and economic growth.  The Office of Rail and Road (ORR) protects the interests of rail and road users, improving worker and rail safety, and the value and performance of railways and roads today and in the future. It is an exciting and challenging time for the transport networks industries and therefore for the ORR, as Britain’s roads and railways are attracting increasing traveller numbers.

The Director, Corporate Operations and Organisational Development will provide strategic and operational leadership across all of ORR’s corporate operations. Alongside this, s/he will also lead on the ORR’s office move which is planned for 2019.  Working with the Chief Executive and senior team, s/he will be responsible for delivering strategic change initiatives which will ensure that the ORR delivers best in-class work.

You will bring significant operational experience of running corporate services in a complex organisation, which could be in any sector. You will have significant experience of designing and delivering change in a fast-moving environment. You will have a proven and successful track record of leading in at least one of the major functional areas (Finance, IT or HR), and of working closely and collegiately with colleagues from all disciplines and backgrounds. You will also bring experience of managing a large, complex project, such as a move or change programme.
