Employing approximately 4,900 staff from a very diverse range of professions, working across the world; in Germany, Cyprus and the Falkland Islands, Norway, Poland, Kenya, Belize, Nepal and Oman. Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), are responsible for all acquisition, disposal, allocation of assets, construction and maintenance of estate infrastructure in the UK and abroad. Playing a vital role in supporting our armed forces by building, maintaining and servicing the infrastructure needed to support defence providing the armed forces and their families with a fit-for-purpose estate that includes accommodation.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

  • Evidenced based decision making skills, including the personal gravitas and credibility to be seen as a trusted advisor to Ministers and senior officials;
  • Excellent strategic thinking with high intellectual energy, with an awareness of the broader political landscape;
  • A proven track record of leadership strength in a complex and dynamic environment, with an engaging, adaptable, leadership style which connects with people at all levels;
  • Outstanding ability to build effective relationships at the most senior level (i.e. with Ministers / board level)  with strong  communication and influencing skills, capable of working across organisational boundaries.

Commercially minded with sound business acumen and a strong focus on performance and financial management.
