Salary: Cash remuneration of up to £33,000 dependent upon the skills and experience that is being brought to the role plus an Employer Pension contribution worth up to £6,175. 

Location: Sheffield

We are responsible for cyber security in the Department for Education (DfE) and we are looking for a Cyber Threat and Vulnerability Analyst to join our IT Group. Your work will help to protect the department from cyber-attacks and ensure corporate assets are protected. You will be helping to safeguard over £60 billion of annual budgets and vast amounts of personal and sensitive information relating to children and people employed in the education sector.

You will be inquisitive and able to learn new skills quickly. This position will suit somebody who is motivated by challenges, looking to develop and expand on their existing knowledge in a fast paced and ever changing cyber threat landscape. You will be instrumental in the monitoring and configuration of cyber security systems across the organisation. Significant experience in web application and infrastructure security testing methods is crucial to the role, as well as in-depth knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and networking architecture. You will also need knowledge of common database, application, web server design and implementation.
