Chief Operating Officer, Office of the Public Guardian
The Office of the public Guardian (OPG) has an important role to play. We protect people in England and Wales who may not have the mental capacity to make decisions for themselves, such as about their health and finance. We also help people plan ahead for someone to make certain important decisions for them, should they become unable to do so because they lack mental capacity. The OPG is an executive agency, sponsored by the Ministry of Justice, with a committed team of over 1100 staff who are located across multiple sites in Birmingham, London and Nottingham.
We are looking for an exceptional individual to lead the organisations operational service delivery. As part of the senior team, you will work closely the Public Guardian and OPG Chief Executive to manage and develop the agency and its people. You will ensure that OPG Services are organised and delivered effectively, and that they are aligned with the OPG strategy and business goals. You will be an advocate for change, leading initiatives to identify and realise the benefits of change, whilst continuously seeking ways to improve OPG services.
To be successful in this post you will bring a strong track record of leading operational service delivery and creating a culture for service improvement, development and growth. You will have demonstrable experience of delivering services that exceed the expectation of the user. As a visible leader and role model, you will be able to motivate and develop your teams to create a high performing, inclusive culture. You will have the gravitas to gain respect of senior leaders quickly and the confidence to navigate external partners and stakeholders to achieve organisational objectives.
