About the role:
To lead a Contracts Team in overseeing a portfolio of infrastructure projects with specific regard to provide commercial and contract management, ensuring contract compliance, cost management and assurance, contract administration and relationship management. In addition the Contracts Manager will support the development and implementation of appropriate commercial strategies, including the drive for increased competitive tension and ensure value for money.
Directing and steering the development and maintenance of an efficient and effective approach to commercial delivery management across the portfolio of projects which includes the following:
- Budget and financial control
- Formation and maintenance of a baseline (cost & time)
- Risk management
- Performance monitoring including periodic formal review meetings
- Support earned value management
- Senior management / CDEC reports
- Benchmarking and assessment of value for money
Directing and steering the development and maintenance of an efficient and effective approach to commercial relationship management across the portfolio of projects which includes the following:
- Commercial issues and disputes resolution and mitigation
- Contract matters
- Continuous improvement
Directing and steering the development and maintenance of an efficient and effective processes and approach to contract management and administration across the portfolio of projects which includes the following:
- Contract maintenance and change control management
- Charges and cost monitoring and audits
- Ordering and payment procedures
- Resource management and planning
- Management reporting
- Cost assurance of target costs, compensation events and early warnings.
Overall accountability for the professional services arrangements supporting the contract management activities, where applicable.
You will have a proven ability to lead a large geographically dispersed team of contract management professionals and Quantity Surveyors, with the leadership qualities to drive performance, lead change, build effective relationships and develop yourself and others.
You will have a track record in successfully contract managing infrastructure projects in gas, electric or other relevant markets including rail, water and airports. This experience will be either client or contractor side and you will be able to demonstrate the value you have delivered and your decision making capability and judgement.
It will be an advantage if you possess a relevant professional qualification or degree.
