Redstone Commodity Search are working with a shipbroking company seeking an FFA broker in their London office.
Key Responsibilities / Tasks
• Broking dry Forward Freight Agreement (FFAs) for hedge and speculative books
• Front office revenue generation through providing strategy and hedging advice to clients including shipping companies, charterers, chartering, investment houses and banks
• Provide full service risk management solutions to freight derivative clients, including broking FFA contracts to assist ship owners, speculators and charterers to hedge against volatile freight rates
• Work closely with the other desks in the business to cross and upsell clients to other services and solutions that the company offer
• Reports into the Head of Freight Derivatives
Key Qualifications / Experience
• 2 years' experience in a brokerage/shipping role
• Strong understanding of Forward Freight Agreements / FFA's and the shipping or marine markets as a whole
• Knowledge of hedging/risk strategies with experience of selling these into banks, institutional, corporate and speculative clients as well as shipping industry players including owners, charterers and operators
• Experience on dry freight / dry cargo on ship sizes including Capesize, Panamax, Handysize or Supramax
• Located in London or happy to relocate
