• Do you have excellent strategic insight with a track record of developing and implementing, innovative policy and strategy?
• Are you experienced at working collaboratively with professional experts, particularly in the business and science communities and adept at building strong, productive relationships?
• Do you have political sensitivity and understanding, with the ability to influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders across a diverse range of sectors and communities?

If so, you may be our next Director for International Science and Innovation.

The Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) was created by the Prime Minster from a merger of the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and the Department for Energy and Climate Change. BEIS has one of the widest remits in Whitehall and a key role to play in making markets work well for business, consumers and workers.

As the Director for International Science and Innovation you will work closely with the Secretary of State and Ministers to ensure that Britain continues to be a leading science nation.

This is a high profile, demanding role with the opportunity to shape our international science strategy as we exit the European Union.

If you think you have the skills, experience and ambition that we are looking for, we’d love to hear from you.

In return, you will enjoy an excellent rewards package which includes flexible working, childcare vouchers and Civil Service Pension.
