• Are you an individual with outstanding leadership skills, able to work collaboratively, motivate and inspire teams through periods of ambiguity in a changing environment?

• Do you have a thorough understanding of operating within a regulatory environment? Have excellent policy development skills with a strong analytical capability?

• Are you able to engage and build successful trusting relationships, spanning multiple stakeholders across organisational boundaries up to and including Board / Ministerial level?

If so, you may be one of our next Deputy Directors for Better Regulation at the Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).

The Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) was created by the Prime Minster from the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and the Department for Energy and Climate Change. It has one of the widest remits in Whitehall and a key role to play in making markets work well for business, consumers and workers.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Better Regulation Executive Directorate in BEIS to advise Ministers on better regulation.

As Deputy Director, Better Regulation Executive you will be working closely with other departments across Whitehall and their regulators to promote the principle of better regulation, challenge the way in which they enforce existing regulation and their proposals for new regulation, and ensure that any new regulatory burdens are necessary and proportionate.

If you think you have the skills, experience and ambition that we are looking for, we’d love to hear from you.
