The Property Directorate is a new function within HMCTS; the role of Deputy Director Facilities Management is one of six posts reporting to the Property Director.

Your key challenge will be to shape and deliver an effective facilities management service across the courts and tribunals estate and to lead on creating buildings that are fit for purpose.

Effective facilities management is fundamental to both business as usual and the future shaping of our estate, to deliver the benefits of the Court Reform programme.

The Reform programme is investing in our estate, updating and replacing technology, speeding up and streamlining working practices and providing much improved services for service users, especially vulnerable witnesses and victims.

This presents a seriously challenging prospect, which requires a skilled, confident and impactful practitioner to take on this stretching and rewarding role.

As well as engaging with a large and diverse workforce, you will also provide strategic advice to the organisation’s leadership team. Working closely with peers and colleagues in Property Directorate to provide professional advice and guidance, you will be instrumental in shaping decisions.

This is a new post, filled currently on an interim basis, and one of your first tasks will be to develop, in conjunction with the Property Director, a strategic delivery plan for FM aligned with the future shape of the estate. There is, currently, a team of c.50 people and spend of c.90m per annum on facilities management activities. The total Property Directorate spend is c.£400m pa.

Further information about the role and the application and selection process can be found in the candidate information pack via the link on this advert.
