Bring your experiences, research and thinking to life as Head of Talent and Capability at the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA).

In this pivotal role within the People, Communications & Engagement directorate, you'll develop our talent, capability and succession strategies to enable the Agency to deliver high quality services to our customers.

You will make sure that we have coherent plans in place for developing our talent; helping the business to identify capability gaps and develop innovative solutions to fill them.

Responsible for overseeing our approach to "growing our own" to fill critical roles, you will co-ordinate any potential development and learning opportunities (including secondments and placements) and align them to the cross government professions frameworks.

Other responsibilities in this role will include:

• building strong and productive relationships with our Directors
• developing a talent management strategy
• leading DVSA's response for departmental talent reviews and develop an action plan to respond to findings
• managing our apprentices programme

About You
You're a member of or working towards a professional talent management/leadership development qualification such as CIPD, CMI or equivalent.

You have experience of leading talent and/or capability services in an operational organisation and working at a strategic level as part of an HR Senior team.

You've had direct experience of developing fully integrated talent and capability strategies.

About Us
We're responsible for improving road safety and setting the standards for driving, motorcycling and vehicle testing.

We make sure that drivers, MOT garages and vehicle operators understand and follow these standards through education, testing and when required enforcement action. The work we do is important as it affects everyone in Great Britain.
