European Warehouse Project Manager (leading to Head of Operations)
My client is a fast-growing organisation, with recognised international growth. Due to this continuing growth and an aim to provide a class-leading service, they are planning to open an additional warehouse in Europe to support the significant and fast-growing customer base. As such they're looking to recruit an individual to lead this project from the initial stages through to go-live, and then manage the multiple sites/operations.
The role will be based in the UK with regular travel within Europe, and will suit a degree calibre individual looking for an exciting opportunity to facilitate the next evolution of a fast-paced organisation's capability. This will be a highly visible and critical role.
*To deliver an operational distribution centre in Europe on time and to budget
*Finalise and obtain agreement to the warehouse specification
*To design and put in place the necessary resource to operate the facility, ensuring a continuous improvement methodology is incorporated from the start
*Identify 3rd party requirements and carry out a selection process to determine the preferred partner(s)
*Create and maintain the overall project plan, providing regular progress updates to the Board
*Work with a cross-functional team across Operations, IT and Supply Chain teams to successfully deliver the solution
*The ideal candidate will have a background in FMCG/3PL environment with proven experience of managing and delivering similar projects, preferably using recognised project management techniques
*This project represents a significant change to the infrastructure and order fulfilment, therefore experience of effective change management for internal and external stakeholders is essential
*Experience using Project methodologies (Six Sigma, Prince2, Agile)
*Lean/Six Sigma accreditation is preferred although not essential
*Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills
