What it’s about
We currently have a vacancy for a Catering Assistant to work within our Cambridge based sites. Working as part of a team and reporting to the Catering manager, you will be responsible for providing the best catering and hospitality service to all members of the organisation as well as visitors and be required to work from within our various Cambridge based sites in accordance with our current rota system.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and customer focused catering team working to produce and deliver excellent service to all Cambridge Assessment staff, guests and visitors. This role would suit someone with some 5* catering experience.
What you’ll be doing
You will proactively work in all sections of the kitchen with minimum supervision and be able to communicate with and supervise the relevant members of the team. You will be producing a range of food from classic dishes to take away salads and daily specials only using fresh ingredients. You will ensure that weekly menus are created and that food items are ordered accordingly whilst making sure that food cost is maintained at all time.
What we’re looking for
Enthusiastic team player who is self-motivated and confident in their specialist area. You’ll be a qualified chef, with a minimum of a level 3 NVQ food production (or equivalent). You will have a good attention to detail and the ability to ensure consistent products are available at across the Group at all time. You will be able to plan your own work and have a proven ability to manage your workload when under pressure to meet multiple deadlines and enjoy contributing to the excellent reputation of the department.
