Export Client Account Manager - Export Document Specialist

AS Export Client Account Manager you will be responsible for a set of accounts and will be the main point of contact for all customer needs relating to Export Letters of Credit, assessing of contracts, organising logistics, and issuance of LC compliant documentation.

The Export Client Account Manager will be dealing with customers in the export market which could be either trading companies, manufacturers from SME's to large corporates. They will also be required to work closely with service providers such as freight and logistic companies, local Chamber of Commerce and International Banks.

Experience Preferred:

• Excel to intermediate level - preferable ( some knowledge is absolutely essential)
• Experience in Microsoft word
• Banking knowledge & it would be advantageous if the candidate had some experience in International Trade but not essential.
• Previous freight forwarding or previous roles in finance sector would also be an advantage.
• Maths, Science & law graduates would suit the role
• Knowledge of UCP and ISBP would be an advantage
• CDCS qualified would be advantageous.

Export documentary credits, the role will involve:

• Daily contact with customers, banks and freight forwarders
• Process all incoming documentary credits for clients, allocating job reference no's and assessing risks ( below)*

• * check for workability, & make comments in respect to the LC provided by our customers for their export transaction, give guidance and consult on any contentious issues which could affect the customers ability to obtain payment for their exports

• Make freight bookings for international movements by sea or air, worldwide.

• liaise with freight forwarders and customers regarding freight movements, quotations and alike,

• Produce export LC documentation in accordance with documentary terms to ensure they meet with documentary credit requirements - high accuracy and typing skills required. This is where attention to detail really comes into play!

• Present documents to bank for payment, & liaise with banks to ensure documentation is correct and funds are paid to clients.

• Monitor ongoing and outstanding documentary credits with clients for status and current position.

The role is very diverse, our company is fast moving and very customer focused. You will receive on job training by 2 senior staff and attend courses offered by the chamber of commerce, & visit a UK Bank to gain an understanding of international trade processes and procedures from a banks perspective.
