Young People's Producer (maternity cover)

Fixed-term contract for up to 1 year, full-time

Salary: GBP21,000 -24,000 per annum, pro-rata, depending on experience

The Theatre Royal Plymouth is the largest and best attended regional producing theatre in the UK and the leading presenter of theatre in the South West. It has a national reputation for the production of new plays, for the co-production and development of internationally-renowned dance, drama and musicals, and for its extensive creative learning programme which engages young people, adults and disadvantaged communities.

Our Young People's Producer is responsible for developing and producing a pioneering range of creative programmes with young people in Plymouth and the SW region. They produce productions, events and ongoing sessions, manage and develop partnerships, and work closely with directors, designers and a range of creative practitioners. This post will produce a variety of work with young people aged between 5 and 25, three productions a year and oversee a large number of strands of work including our Young Reps, Airborne Dance, The Lab Company and the Ignition project.

An in depth understanding of theatre for and with young people is essential, as is demonstrable experience of working in the field of participatory arts. You will have very strong people and project management skills including the ability to develop partnerships, manage complex budgets and work effectively within a fast paced, creative environment.

This post is a full-time maternity cover for one year.
