To work within EDF Energy's Turbine Support Group (TSG)
Based at Heysham '2' Power Station

Turbine Support Group (TSG) is seeking to strengthen its CORE team at Heysham 2 Power Station via the appointment of a Work Management Process and Planning Trainee.

TSG's vision is to develop and deliver excellence in Turbo Generator service support. We deliver this by providing an Engineering and Maintenance service for Steam Turbines, Generators and associated plant, at three primary power stations, whilst supporting other generating plant within the EDF Energy portfolio as the need arises.

Working within our Operations team you will play an integral part in the EDF's Mission statement of 0-65-9. Zero Harm, 65 TWH of generation per year and Nine years life extension per plant. With a particular key focus on equipment reliability, and finding innovative solutions to challenges you are presented with. Knowledge or experience of power industry engineering processes and technical specification of plant would be advantageous, but not essential.

Whilst this position is based at Heysham 2 you will be required to travel to other EDF station locations, including Hunterston B and Dungeness B to provide Work Management and Planning support, therefore flexibility and willingness to travel are essential. The successful candidate will be responsible for Engineering Work Order Cards, Maintaining WMP systems, producing reports and management of the work order cards during busy maintenance periods such as Outages.

An awareness of large steam and rotating plant is desirable, but not essential. Candidates should poses IT skills including Microsoft Excel working knowledge and Word processing skills. You should have an attention to detail, demonstrate personal accountability and time management skills whilst working as a nuclear professional at all times.

An HNC qualification in a relevant subject is desirable, however candidates with a wilingness to work towards this, who possesses the personal qualities required, should also apply.

You will be a key member of the Heysham team, working to support and strengthen already strong links with the onsite station teams. Whilst working to develop additional professional relationships, with key stake holders, internal and external partners. Demonstrating the key EDF personal qualities required to work as a Nuclear Professional. You must champion Health and Safety, whilst always maintaining high professional personal standards and remaining focussed on quality.

Candidates will possess interpersonal and excellent communication skills, remaining articulate and diligent at all times.

You will work a standard working week of 37hrs, reporting directly to the TSG Planning Engineer. Basic annual remuneration of GBP29,300.
