We are seeking to appoint a Research Assistant to work on the Cancer, Fertility and Me study. This varied role will include responsibility for the day to day co-ordination of the research, patient recruitment from NHS clinics in Sheffield and data collection and analyses; including literature searching on specified topics, using both qualitative and quantitative research methods and contribution to the writing of project reports and publications for peer-reviewed journals. We are looking for an enthusiastic person who will work effectively with the team of co-researchers and staff at Leeds Beckett University and the large steering group members involving psychologists, paediatric and adult cancer doctors, fertility experts and patient experts. The post will mainly involve recruiting in Sheffield with some travel to Leeds during the working week.

The candidate will be located within the Department of Psychology in the School of Sciences.

You will have a degree and a postgraduate qualification in a relevant, related field and ideally have experience in conducting research within the field of cancer and/or reproductive medicine. This is a sensitive and challenging area of research and therefore experience of working in such an area before is desirable. You will have used qualitative and quantitative research approaches and be able to work to deadlines. The role will also involve undertaking the ethical and regulatory applications for both sites, collating the data from both sites, patient / public involvement and liaising with the charities and cancer service user panels supporting this study.

The post is fixed term until the end of April 2019.
