Java Technical Consultant (Java, JavaScript, Angular.JS)

Salary: GBP50k - GBP65k basic + full benefits

Location: East Midlands (working from home with some travel to client sites)

Are you a passionate & talented Java Developer OR Consultant looking for a fresh challenge where you will be working on the development & deployment of cutting edge Java based web applications? Are you keen to work on projects for household name clients? Do you want to work in a positive, dynamic & flexible working environment (working from home with some travel to client sites)? If so this role could well be for you.

Working across a product range of 6 or 7 enterprise level Java applications you will design, develop & deploy their solutions to new clients & their existing customer base. You will also provide training, support to the presales team & high-level application support when needed. Clients will mostly be based domestically but occasionally this role will require international travel. When you're not on a client site you will be encouraged to work from home. Home can be anywhere in the East Midlands (or close to that eg South Yorkshire, West Midlands etc).

Background & Tech

We need people who are able to sit down with customers to define their requirements & then write well designed, very testable & highly efficient code! Ideally you have a skills across the full stack including Front End experience using JavaScript & ideally Angular.JS. You will be at home in an Agile environment and have proven experience with hands-on development, troubleshooting & continuous integration.

What you will need to bring to the table
  • Proven development experience using Java J2EE - ideally some Java 8.
  • Some Javascript (ideally with Angular.JS or similar frameworks), HTML5 & RESTful web services.
  • Good knowledge of Jenkins (or similar like Bamboo & Travis), Camel (or similar messaging eg Kafka) & SQL/NoSQL.
  • Experience working in a client facing capacity for a technical consultancy, software vendor or similar.
  • Comfortable and at home in an Agile environment.

Any exposure to web based Java products like Alfresco CMS, Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Backbase, OpenText ECM, Liferay, HP Teamsite, Oracle WebCentre Sites etc would be a huge advantage.
