Head of Sales & Commercial - Selling to the major Grocery Retailers Salary to GBP80,000 pa + Bonus + Benefits As an independent family-owned Food business, we are seeking a Head of Sales to develop and deliver a sales plan that will lead to increased sales of our iconic brand within UK Grocery multiples. The role will report to the CEO and will have full P&L autonomy for the sales and commercial function. As a relatively small business the lines of demarcation between job roles can be blurred, so it's paramount the appointed Head of Sales is a team player with a willingness to help their colleagues. Working as part of a small team, the Head of Sales & Commercial will interact across all functions and will work in tandem with the CEO in developing the strategic vision. The Head of Sales & Commercial will demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of sales methodologies, sales reporting, crm systems and Grocery sales best practice. They will provide reliable sales forecasts utilising their understanding of the retail customer, business systems and reporting capabilities. The company is performing well and currently supply's two of the 'big 4' Grocery multiples. It has been successful in winning market share from competitors, including larger brands with bigger marketing budgets. The Head of Sales & Commercial will be tasked with building on a very solid foundation and taking the brand to the next level by securing listing's with further Grocery retailers. They will be supported by a marketing team that focuses on the brand and promotional activities. We are seeking an entrepreneurial sales leader with a proven track record of successfully growing revenues with major multiple retailers through relationship building, passion for the products and successful negotiation. A minimum 5 year track record in selling to UK Grocery retailers, or experience of working for a major multiple retailer in a Grocery Procurement role is expected, and a substantial proportion of your experience should be within branded foods. Crucial to this is a sophisticated understanding of the process and complexity of managing relationships with the major Grocery retailers. As the Head of Sales will be given a high degree of autonomy to run the commercial function, we seek a confident decision-maker who backs their own judgement where no precedent or policy exists.
