HMRC - Director, Business Tax & Customs
- Are you a senior service delivery and change leader who has experience of managing transformation across a large and complex business?
- Can you demonstrate having driven cultural, organisational and process change in a customer facing environment?
- Do you have experience of successfully engaging senior stakeholders and a disparate workforce through periods of change?
- Are you looking for your next professional challenge?
There are few times in the evolution of an organisation when you have the opportunity to be there at the beginning, to help shape drive and deliver the transformation that will take the organisation into the next stage of its existence. This is truly an exciting time to be working in HMRC and a fantastic opportunity to join a Department that is undergoing one of the most significant transformations in Government, affecting all our people now and in the future. We are transforming how and where we work, making use of digital tools and consolidating our workforce into 13 regional centres and specialist sites across the UK
Director General, Angela MacDonald is building a strong team of senior leaders to help her manage and oversee her Customer Services Group and is looking for a proven transformation leader to manage the growing Business Tax Services function that will enable the smooth running of Customs through our exit of the European Union.
“We are at a critical juncture in HMRC’s evolution and Brexit brings a unique once in a life time opportunity as well as challenges across all our business areas, with a particular impact on our Customs functions. That’s why I have created this new role for which I am looking for an experienced leader who will help me manage the Business Tax & Customs team of some 2000 professionals through this.” Angela MacDonald
With increasing and accelerating changes in the world in which we operate in the run-up to and beyond the UK’s departure from the EU – we have both challenges to overcome and opportunities to embrace. Alongside preparing for the future, we must continue to deliver our core functions well – ensuring that we provide high quality services and decisions that make a real impact for consumers, businesses and the UK economy.
We will need you to be a collaborator, you will be innovative, and underpinning that, you will need to be resilient, as we get closer to our exit of the European Union. If you are a strong leader, able to inspire, motivate and build capability across your team; if you have been able to deliver consistently high performance within a complex and fast-changing service delivery environment; and if you are comfortable working under extensive external scrutiny, then this could be the role for you and we look forward to hearing from you.
