The Role Description
We are recruiting for a Technical Assistant to work on a part time contract basis covering 18.5 hours per week. The role will provide a high level of technical administrative support to the Function having full regard for the Site Licence requirements, statutory and Company Directives, Procedures and Safety Rule
Essential & Desirable Skills
Sufficient knowledge of Station/Site plant to be able to associate work instructions with plant areas and systems.
An understanding of documentary procedures/control associated with plant operation and maintenance.
A working knowledge of Information Technology to allow 'stand-alone' working on Databases, Spread sheets, Word Processing, Project Management etc.
Good communication skills to be able to co-ordinate and facilitate the role of Technical Clerk with Engineering staff, other site staff and off-site personnel.
Ability to produce outputs of high quality with due regard for attention to detail and an awareness of the nuclear significance of any data being managed.
An understanding of the organisation and function of other Departments on and off-site.
Experience of providing a wide range of administrative support activities
Support with the preparation and tracking of safety cases as appropriate
Prepare and collate monthly Statistics and Performance indicators and monitoring of trends
Management of Check-sheets and databases relating to the Function
Manage the co-ordination of resources from supporting functions as required.
Maintain and update databases, spread sheets, project plans etc efficiently and in a timely manner, with a high level of quality assurance and attention to detail.
Ad hoc projects as agreed with the Functional Manager
May act in a supervisory capacity on a day to day basis specifying administration work activities and standards
Develop, maintain and control cost-effective administrative processes, including effective filing and retrieval systems, to enhance the operational functionality of the Department.
Ensure that all documentation requests and revisions to existing documents are completed in an efficient and timely manner, with a high level of quality assurance and attention to detail.
Be aware of Regulatory requirements and requests.
Provide a high level of effective communications both within the Function and with outside organisations.
Provide high level of technical administrative support within the Function.
Provide support with the monitoring of costs, forecasts and reporting of financial information within the Function
Provide minutes, notes and actions of Department meetings as required and track actions as necessary.
Participate in training to ensure 'Suitably Qualified and Experienced' for the role.
The post holder may be required to be a member of, and participate in, the Site Emergency Scheme subject to any fitness standards required
Comply with all Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality policies, procedures, work instructions and risk assessments and support the continuous improvement of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality on Site.
As a customer-focused individual, the post holder will be expected to support delivery within his or her range of skills, knowledge, experience and competence.
Educated to GCSE standard in English and Mathematics.
Educated to A level standard/NQF level 3 in a business related subject (desirable)
