  Progression Coach  (Part time Maternity Cover) Main Workbase:Mastmaker Court Hours of work:  21 hours a week Working days:Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday Contract:Maternity Cover until 31st January 2018 Salary banding:£18,270 - £23,345 pro rata Reports to:  Progression Coach Manager Benefits: 5% Employer pension contribution after 3 months 25 days annual leave (increasing 1 day per year up to 30 days) pro rata  2 weeks bonus annual leave pro rata Season ticket loan & cycle scheme   Job purpose Progression coaches have the primary responsibility of supporting a case load of at risk young people (aged 19 – 24) through their time at City Gateway. This dedicated support will be delivered through a variety of means, and will ensure that each young person progresses through City Gateway’s programmes into sustained education and/or employment.   Coaching support will be delivered on a one-to-one and group basis, focusing on interventions which have maximum impact in developing the skills required for progression. Coaches will be resourceful in helping their caseload overcome the barriers and problems they face, project managing the implementation of agreed action plans and supporting the young people to achieve their objectives.     Duties and responsibilities With young people: Carry out initial assessment of the strengths and needs of the young people and design a sustainable and tailored action plan for each of the individuals in their caseload Carry out enrolment interview and follow initial retention strategy as directed by the Outreach Manager   Hold regular 1:1 and group sessions with young people   Ensure young people engage with out-of-classroom development opportunities, including employers and partner charities   Ensure that young people meet the required outcomes of: improved behaviour, attendance and soft skills development; vocational and Functional Skills achievement; and a sustained transition to further education, employment or apprenticeships   Adhere to all relevant policies (safeguarding, health and safety, etc) when delivering activities with young people   Document and evidence all work and use data in order to provide the most effective support with young people   Ensure all paperwork is completed to contractual and organisational standards   Liaise with and support parents, carers, guardians etc of the young people as appropriate   Liaise with multi agencies and other external organisations that work with the young person   Ensure young people have access to up to date, impartial careers guidance   Match young people in their caseload to progression opportunities, including City Gateway apprenticeships   Measure and track work readiness and progression status of all young people on their caseload at regular intervals       Closing date:  26/02/2018 @ 3pm Interview date: 01/03/2018 and 02/03/2018   Thank you for applying
