Head of Technical Security
The purpose of this role is to support the Director of CSIR in maintainingsecurity policies and the effective delivery of IT controls for HMRC systemsand services, acting as the techncial security subject matter expert.
It is HMRC policy to provide enhanced protection of certain customer records because of their employment or personal circumstances. This postholder is accountable for providing technical risk mitigation for these customer records.
This work supports HMRC’s transformation programme and supports work to become the leading provider of digital services for our customers and shaping and influencing how protective security is managed across government to keep our customer data secure.The role will provide technical security advice to support the development of the Enterprise Data Hub.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate success in a number of areas, some of which include:
-Knowledge, understanding and, experience in Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model and all the 7 layers from Application to Physical;
- Proven ability to deliver Infrastructure Architecture – the frameworks and principals on which networks, systems, equipment and resources are based;
- An understanding of the risk appetite of HMRC or another large organisation around data and be able to translate that risk appetite into solutions space;
- An ability to offer advice across a range of security classifications, including accountability for decisions taken on risk mitigation;
- National-level subject matter expert on technical security, Information Assurance and security risk management.
