About DVSA

We’re responsible for carrying out driving tests, approving people to be driving instructors and MOT
testers, undertaking tests to make sure lorries and buses are safe to drive, carrying out roadside
checks on drivers and vehicles and monitoring vehicle recalls. Our vision is of safer drivers, safer
vehicles and safer roads.
The challenges presented by COVID-19 mean we’ve been unable to conduct the number of tests we
would in a normal year, so we need to recruit more driving examiners to help get back to ‘business
as usual’.
We're an innovative organisation that values professional expertise. We invest in our people and
champion inclusive and diverse teams. And we make sure colleagues have the skills to meet the
needs of Britain’s road users.
