Foster Care Associates Scotland is looking for a Senior Supervising Social Worker to deliver a fostering service on a part time, permanent basis in Aberdeen. You will be home based, and also part of an experienced and successful, multi-disciplinary team based in Rosyth. You will be rewarded with an excellent salary plus additional benefits.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
• Deputise for the Team Manager, including attending meetings, chairing team meetings and Foster Carer support groups. Facilitate Foster Carer/Children’s events.
• Regular formal and informal supervision of other team members as detailed in the supervision agreement.
• Recruit, assess and monitor the continued suitability and competence of Foster Carers ensuring they provide a safe, healthy, nurturing and learning environment for children/young people.
• Undertake Form F Assessments.
• Responsibility for taking on more challenging and complex cases.
• Work in partnership with the relevant authority to ensure that the child and young person’s needs as identified in the Care Plan and placement agreement are met.
• Deliver and support Foster Carer learning & development programme.
• Participate in the Out of Hours duty rota as required.
• Provide practice learning opportunities including supervision and support of students.
• Provide and record regular supervision to allocated foster carers in line with FCAS’s operational standards.
• Participate in Foster Carer annual reviews, within required timescales, providing written evidence of competence, presenting annual review reports to FCAS’s Panel as required.

YOU MUST HAVE:
• A Social Work qualification
• Professional registration with the SSSC/equivalent
• Proven ability to produce a high standard of report writing
• A comprehensive working knowledge of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures
• Have the ability to work as part of a dynamic multi professional team.
• Have the ability to work with groups e.g. carers support groups or in a training setting.
• The willingness and ability to travel (including occasional nights away)
• Must possess a full driving licence

This position comes with a salary up to £33,000 per annum pro rata (depending on experience) + car + benefits.
