SALARY & BENEFITS: Competitive dependant on experience

WORKING HOURS: Full time hours - 38 hours per week

THE COMPANY: We are currently working for a leading independent Boarding and Day school for girls aged 4-18 in Great Malvern, Worcestershire. It is a dynamic school where every girl plays a crucial role and has a strong sense of self-worth. The school is now seeking a PE teacher to join the team in September 2018.

THE ROLE: As a PE Teacher you will teach pupils within the school and carry our other duties that are reasonably assigned by the Head of PE and Director of teaching and learning. You will promote outstanding teaching and inspire the love of learning within the department and you will lead and manage the classes purposefully and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities for the PE Teacher role to include:-

• Planning and preparing courses and lessons to promote pupil's active engagement in learning
• Teaching, according to their educational needs (including those with SEND and the More Able) the pupils assigned to her / him, including the regular setting and marking of work
• Assessing, recording and reporting on the development, progress and attainment of pupils
• Organising, leading and participating in extra-curricular activities and educational visits
• Promoting the general progress and well-being of individual pupils and of any class or group of pupils
• Attending assemblies, registering the attendance of pupils in a timely manner and supervising pupils, whether these duties are to be performed before, during or after school sessions
• Providing or contributing to oral and written assessments, reports and references relating to individual pupils and groups of pupils

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate will need to be a passionate, experience and well qualified teacher of PE. You must be able to coach a wide variety of sports with specialism in netball and hockey. Knowledge in Lacrosse would be an advantage. You will also be required to teach to GCSE and/or BTEC, therefore you will be an excellent classroom practitioner, have top organisational skills.

Key experience essential for the role of the PE Teacher:-

• Good degree in Physical Education (or a closely related subject)
• A Teaching Qualification
• Experience of Teaching Physical Education throughout the school including GCSE, BTEC or A Level
• Proficient in the use of IT in the classroom
• Live within a commutable distance to Malvern Near Worcester
• Willing to complete a DBS check at job offer stage
