What's your favourite Queen song?
Charlie will want to know, because he LOVES Queen. Charlie is a 14 year old boy who is funny, caring - and who is profoundly autistic. He's a really, really cool kid, and right now we need someone equally cool to hang out with and care for him.

We're looking for someone who has a calm nature and who isn't phased easily. How would you cope with a 14 year old boy deciding to be naked in the wrong place at the wrong time? What if there's a toilet accident? What if, for all your effort, and all your energy, and all your hard work - you get nothing in return on some days?

We need one to one support for Charlie at his home outside of Leeds and around his community. Charlie has a child-centred programme which includes play, education, Sensory Integration Therapy and additional therapies. Along with day to day work hours, we'll need you to attend two team meetings per month which take place in an evening. The intensive training we provide means that you'll need to commit to Charlie for a minimum of twelve months.

You may have a teaching background, or you might indeed have experience working with someone who has a diagnosis of Autism or ASD. It might be, however, that life has helped you become compassionate, calm, loving, non-judgemental and unfailingly consistent.

This is about appreciating and believing in a young man, and working with the challenges that come with him. If you love music (you don't have to like Queen!) if you appreciate people and all that make them unique, and you're looking for something that will re-define the meaning of job satisfaction - you need to meet Charlie

The candidate for the Education Facilitator / Teaching Assistant's role should be able to work as part of a close knit team of facilitators and consultants and learn from their colleagues.
