An exciting part time position has become available within the pension services department in Wolverhampton City Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

* Day-to-day management of the collection, control and reconciliation of contributions along with any other income from employers and members of the Fund
* Provide reporting, administrative and technical support to the Head of Finance/Fund Accountant
* Process, verify and monitor all transactions ensuring complete and accurate financial recording and reporting
* Provide support to business functionality for all service users in respect of disbursements, currencies and miscellaneous income
* Assist in the provision of appropriate financial management information to all managers and external agencies.
* Assist in budget preparation, financial accounts closedown and on-going budget monitoring.
* To provide, record and control any foreign currencies required by service users.
* To provide administrative and technical support to the division, to include:-
* Analyse and reconcile property portfolio accounts prepared by managing agents.
* Liaison with external agencies in the settlement of transactions.
* Production of statistical data for meetings and reports.
* Organise and assemble external research material.
* Assist with the production and verification of asset valuation and verifications.
* Maintenance of transaction records and associated paperwork.
* Maintenance of specialist databases including verification of data, and interpretation to produce statistical reports and information.
* Maintenance of a range of complex records to ensure accurate accounting and reporting.

Key Skills

* AAT or equivalent, part-qualified
* Excellent communicator orally and in writing.
* Experience of working on an EU funded project
* Fund accounting & financial administration experience.
* Familiar with accounting systems, application software and personal computers
* Knowledge of financial systems including payroll, UPM, Icon & Bloomberg
* Good understanding of state benefits in relation to pensioner payment
* High standard of numeracy and literacy skills
* To achieve targets within specified timescales.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure when required.
* Make and maintain good working relationships and work effectively as part of a team.
* Ability to use own initiative with a strong attention to detail
