Project Testing Assistant (part time)

Location: Head Office, Newbury

Hours: 22 hours per week, Monday to Thursday.

Working hours are 9am-2.30pm however a degree of flexibility over hours may be possible.

Salary: £17,755 FTE (£11,160 pro-rated)

Reporting to the Business Improvement Manager, the key responsibility is to support the business improvement culture through new release core system project testing, to help deliver change across the Society.

This role will provide support to the Manager and a team of 4 Project Managers and Business Improvement Analysts.

Duties will include:

Writing, modifying, testing and evidencing scripts, to ensure that they are ready to go “live”.
Identifying system or procedural changes required and discussing plans with internal colleagues for a resolution.
Identifying process improvements.
Creating and keeping up to date spreadsheets and records of testing.
Providing excellent service to internal and external customers

Essential criteria for the role are:

• GCSE Maths and English grade C or above
• Sound numeracy skills
• Able to communicate clearly and concisely face to face and in writing
• Problem solving skills
• Analytical approach
• Proficient in the use of Word and Excel (able to use basic formulas)
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Confident, positive and cheerful attitude
• Team player
• Takes ownership of tasks and manages priorities to meet required deadlines
• Ability to see the ‘bigger picture’ in terms of how actions can affect other parts of the business

Desirable criteria for the role are:

• A-level or equivalent qualification
