Could you support children with learning disabilities live a life that makes sense to them?

We are looking for full time Support Workers to come work at the house we have on the edge of Leighton Buzzard. Some of the pupils from the MacIntyre school live here when they are not at the school learning and you will be part of the team that supports them. These roles are 37.5 hours per week.

MacIntyre School Wingrave is a vibrant residential school for children with autism and severe learning disabilities. Located in the pretty village of Wingrave, between Aylesbury and Leighton Buzzard, it is attended during the day by around 40 pupils.

You will be supporting the children in the morning to get them ready and to school, and then again in the evening and night once school has finished for the day; helping with their daily lives and making sure they have full participation in community activities and their hobbies.

These young people have complex needs and may show challenging behaviour. Our specialist teams and Frontline Manager will support you to learn ways of helping them to manage this behaviour. There is also a requirement to provide assistance with personal care.
