Human Resources Administration Assistant - Northampton College

The Human Resources (HR) team is managed by the Director of Human Resources and is responsible for providing a quality service to the College staff and managers. Whilst this post covers specific areas of work on which the post holder will focus, it is essential that all staff work cooperatively to ensure continuity of service at all times, within the College framework of policies and procedures.
The whole team takes great pride in the quality of their work in terms of professionalism and attention to detail, maintaining high standards of work in a fast-paced environment and meeting tight deadlines.
The roles require excellent organisational skills, ability to multi-task, good written and verbal communication skills and experience of working in a confidential environment. A high degree of accurate data logging and conformity to set processes is crucial to ensure all relevant data is recorded in the correct format and can easily be reported on. Many of the HR processes are centred around safeguarding and as such must be adhered to rigidly to ensure the College conforms to all statutory safeguarding guidelines. As the role involves meeting visitors to the department it is essential to feel comfortable answering queries from both internal and external clients and be aware of the implications of the information provided.
To undertake administrative and organisational duties within the HR Team, ensuring the maintenance of HR records is carried out on a daily basis, working at all times within legal requirements and normal College policies and procedures. Meeting and greeting staff as they arrive in the department, answering queries or ensuring they receive appropriate assistance.
The post will predominantly be based within the recruitment area of the team and as such the majority of the tasks will be recruitment based. However, the whole HR team work very closely with each other and some of the work will be for other areas within the team.
