Our client is looking for a part time L & D person to work approx 18.5 hours per week. The salary shown is the FTE.

Champion a learning culture with a strong focus on achieving the full potential of employees through a wide range of development interventions including eLearning, coaching and mentoring.
The postholder will support the OD & HR Manager to design, deliver and implement OD strategies and projects to develop organisational systems, culture and its people to support Strategic Objectives.

To postholder will support the delivery of a professional learning and development service working with teams to identify, design and deliver both technical and softer skills innovative and engaging learning and development initiatives.

To postholder will have a specific emphasis on the development and delivery of training on electronic systems i.e. Actus, i-Trent, Employee Self Service, E-Learning to support OD processes to improve employee performance, engagement, new ways of working and digitalisation.

Duties and responsibilities

Learning and Organisational Development:

 Design training and development programmes in accordance to the needs of the organisation and with a focus on learning and development technologies.
 Model values and embed these in training materials and delivery of training.
 Design and deliver training as appropriate, monitoring and reviewing the progress of training through feedback and evaluations from employees and providers, i.e. Corporate Induction, Leadership Development
 Provide advice and practical support to Managers regarding technical, operational training and skills development for individuals and specific groups of employees.
 Produce and analyse training related statistics and records as required.
 Review and monitor the annual appraisal process and completed appraisals
 Support individual training and development projects commissioned by the Strategic Training Action Group, and provide facilitation and interventions as required.
 Prepare training specifications in consultation with the OD & HR Manager as necessary.
 Assist in the co-ordination and delivery of technical training, to support the roll out of new policies, procedures and working practices, as necessary.
 Advise managers on learning and development matters relating to their employees, including appraisal and performance management issues
 Procure venues, equipment, training places, and training and development resources which represent value for money and reflect Equal Opportunities Policy.
 Support the HR & OD manager apply the ethos of Investors in People throughout, and to give practical support to the maintenance and compliance of IIP accreditation.
 Assist the HR & OD manager to maximise the recovery of the Apprentice Levy
 Support the HR & OD manager to oversee the vocational training process.
 Contribute to HR/OD planning to meet business needs, undertaking specific projects to support strategic priorities and organisational goals.
 Keep up to date with legislation and government initiatives related to training and development and, where possible, take advantage of external funding opportunities to support the training programme.
 Support the HR & OD Manager to collect and report on any aspect of workforce information, developing systems to ensure the business objectives are met i.e. appraisal returns, gender pay reporting, and equality information.
 Develop a proficiency in HR/OD systems and delivering training to support the delivery of projects (e.g. self-service, on-boarding and induction, recruitment)

Employee Well-being & Engagement:

 Act as main point of contact for the Mental Health VoluntEars.
 Support delivery of engagement/ pulse surveys and analysis of results
 Support the maintenance and delivery of on-boarding and Induction programmes
 Promote and implement Equal Rights Policy and other HR policies and procedures as appropriate, ensuring that training and development policies and practices reflect and promote Diversity, Equality and Inclusion.
 Support the use and development of Values Assessments for people processes i.e. recruitment, appraisal, and talent management.
 Support the Health and Wellbeing Strategy and delivery of programmes and activities. .

Supervisory responsibilities:

 Responsible for the supervision and care of delegates and/or trainees whilst attending training programmes which the postholder facilitates.

 Responsible for the supervision and guidance of temporary staff assigned to the team i.e. placements, ILM participants
