The position of part time Accounts assistant / bookkeeper is to fulfil the daily bookkeeping / accounting functions within the company and for associated companies; the job title and definition as given below do not constitute a limitation on your areas of responsibility & you will be required to perform any reasonable task requested of you.

Job Content / Responsibilities:

To process the accounts and operate the daily bookkeeping functions for the company and smaller associated companies.

Working with QuickBooks On-Line, with the possibility of some work on Sage On-line and related schedules maintained on Excel.

Liaise with the group’s off-site accountant in terms of reporting, queries and support, although the daily role is entirely stand alone and responsible to the General Manager.

Enter and record all company income and expenditure, including raising sales invoices, processing purchase invoices with checking against related purchase orders as necessary; enter all bank and credit card transactions; reconcile supplier & customer statements, processing bank receipts and payments.

Reconcile accounts: e.g. VAT & PAYE & others to trial balance (PAYE is operated by external agent). Process and file VAT returns. Enter nominal journals. Assist in preparation of accruals and prepayments, deferred income and similar (with guidance).

Make supplier and other payments; assist with general debt collection (including issuing statements).

Occasional admin duties consistent with working in a small office
