Our client are apart of a well respected Fresh Produce Group – They are looking for a experienced Account Manager to look after their online retail accounts.

Job Purpose:

  • To manage the companies exciting online retail business– covering Fresh Produce categories
  • To support the Commercial Manager in developing the overall growth plans with their retail customers
  • To develop overall business understanding of the online channel and strategies
  • To understand and develop other emerging online retail customers
  • To support with cover and account management for other retail customers as required
  • To deliver projected product sales and volume growth, maintaining supply service levels and meeting customer expectations
  • To explore sales opportunities to maximise growth and achievement of increased volumes
  • To ensure a comprehensive working knowledge of pricing parameters and seasonal attributes for all product ranges and varieties. Understand and help evolve least cost distribution
  • Develop customer joint business plans in line with our client & customer strategies utilising category management planning and review tools

Dimensions:

  • To liaise with customer supply chain teams involved in sales activity functions and processes
  • To work with the other internal teams to manage sales delivery and meet volume growth expectations
  • To work with IT and systems teams to ensure accurate input and maintenance of data and systems
  • To liaise with customers to ensure fulfillment of the highest levels of customer service and delivery service level

Location and scope:

  • Primarily based in their Essex office (normal working hours 8am to 5pm Mon-Fri)
  • Will require regular travel to meetings at customer sites.
  • Some travel to other sites

Key Accountabilities:

Manage all aspects of Key Accounts and of relationship management

  • Ensure the effective management and maintenance of key accounts
  • Develop and ascertain weekly programmes
  • Analyse orders and trends against annual programme
  • Liaise with the order processor / customer supply chain teams and ensure orders are processed to deliver programmes. Ensure that packaging is managed to fulfil necessary programmes
  • Manage daily relationships with all interfacing personnel, to include, customers, buyers, growers, procurement, technical, accounting and IT teams
  • Establish frequency of communication requirements and needs
  • Continually seek out ways and methods to improve communication processes. Propose and agree revised practices. Instigate reviews as required

Responsible for the development and achievement of increased sales growth.

  • Explore opportunities to develop product lines and be in tune with customers through regular review and analysis of product ranges and qualities
  • Identify areas for sales potential and develop internal delivery plans

Manage the cost price analysis process and procedures

  • Develop and maintain an understanding of all aspects on price parameters, current, past and future to ensure awareness of the pricing structures that can be achieved for all product ranges and varieties
  • Provide advice on pricing of all product ranges
  • Ensure full and accurate implementation of pricing systems. Update systems as required

Set and deliver customer business and category plans and strategies

  • Develop and write customer business plans, agreeing anticipated activity/volume levels
  • Breakdown to weekly programme, at detail level to include procurement availability
  • Negotiate prices, volumes and values with customer. Ensure cost prices are entered on system; provide confirmation of agreed prices to customers and resolve cost price queries
  • Track market share, actual versus planned. Analyse and communicate data
  • Plan promotional activities, ensure procurement availability and agree pricing structures

Maintain an accurate awareness and working knowledge of stock levels.

  • Identify and communicate requirements to adjust planned selling strategies i.e. reduce or increase planned stock movements

Qualifications/ Knowledge & Experience

Qualifications

  • High standard of written and spoken English

Specific Knowledge & Experience

Relevant knowledge and experience would include

  • Account management experience working within the Fresh Produce Industry. Seasonal produce knowledge is essential
  • Experience of working with online retail customers would be preferred
  • Receptiveness to change within fast moving industry

Specific Skills & Experience

  • Demonstration of strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external personnel
  • Able to work within a team
  • Ability to plan and prioritise workload
  • Proven Time management skills: Accustomed to working with and meeting deadlines
  • Data inputting and analysis skills. Accustomed to working with and interpreting data.
  • Accustomed to problem solving
  • IT skills – Good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Power Point software applications and Microsoft Outlook
