Summary
What makes a stay in a National Trust holiday cottage that extra bit special? There's the dramatic location and the glorious scenery. There's the getting-away-from-the-hustle-and-bustle feeling too. But for lots of our guests, it's the thoughtful home-from-home touches. Like the fire you've prepared for them, to the biscuits and milk you've left out in case they're peckish or craving a cup of tea.

What it's like to work here
You'll mainly be looking after the beautiful Combe Park Lodge - this elegant Edwardian cottage is close to river gorges and ancient woodlands.
This detached and pretty Edwardian lodge is a real gem nestled between the beautiful coastal resort of Lynmouth and the romance of Exmoor as epitomised by the author R D Blackmore in his novel 'Lorna Doone'. It has its own private garden, and is encompassed by a wild, rocky coastline and the woodland and moorland of Exmoor. Inside, large spacious rooms enclose elegant interiors and outside a leafy seclusion wraps around the cottage.
You'll also be sometimes asked to work at other cottages in the area too, including at Combe Martin.

What you'll be doing
It's the details like this that make you such a brilliant caretaker. On change-over days, you'll make sure that everything's clean and ready for our guests to arrive. This will include making sure beds are made, the laundry's fresh and that the property is stocked up with fresh milk and flowers. We'd also like you to keep an eye out for any repairs or odd jobs that need doing. You'll also be on hand to provide a warm welcome to our visitors and to respond to any questions or queries they may have during their stay.
