LOCATION: Crawley, West Sussex

JOB TITLE: Carer / Care Assistant

SALARY & BENEFITS: £7.83 per hour, and £9.60 per hour for weekends and bank holidays

WORKING HOURS: Full Time, Part Time, Bank Work

THE COMPANY: Our client is an Exempt Charity and is registered with the FSA as a non-profit making Friendly Society. The home is set in 5 acres of beautiful grounds at the western edge of Crawley. They provide a professional and caring home for up to 94 residents in their four homes on site: a 34 bed nursing home, a 30 bed elderly/frail residential home and a 30 bed home for people with Dementia. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Carer / Care Assistant to join their team.

Key Responsibilities for the Carer / Care Assistant role to include:-

• To attend to and/or assist with the personal, practical, and social/emotional care of residents and other clients of the Home, enabling them to meet their individual needs
• To administer medication in accordance with care plan and medication records
• To undertake continual appropriate record keeping, including completion of personal care records, medication records and care plans
• Taking particular responsibility for the care of a group of residents, including introduction to the Home, contribution to the continual assessment of care plans, and contribute information for reviews and/or case conferences, on individual residents
• Promote residents rights/choice as outlined in "Charter of Rights" for residents

THE CANDIDATE: For the role of Carer / Care Assistant you will be a reliable and flexible team player. You will be friendly, calm, honest, reassuring and an effective communicator. You share the company's goal of delivering excellent care to the patients and you will need to live within a commutable distance to Crawley.

Key experience essential for the role of Carer / Care Assistant :-

• Experience is preferred but not necessary
• A good understanding of dementia type illnesses / behaviour
• NVQ level 2 or level 3 is advantageous
